Dream deck renovation with Outdure

For his own renovation project, builder Chris Reid wanted a low maintenance outdoor living space.

Because it was a pool deck, Chris was after moisture-resistant building products that would be long-lasting. He also wanted to achieve a level transition from the inside flooring to the deck area (no step-down).

As a builder Chris had worked with Outdure products on multiple projects for his clients with excellent results, so he knew the benefits of ResortDeck installed on our QwickBuild deck framing system.

“We wanted to add value to our home by achieving indoor-outdoor flow with a level transition from the house to the deck, this was made easy with the low height QwickBuild profiles,” Chris says.

“And once we decided to build the pool and entertaining area our preferred choice of decking materials was ResortDeck, due to it being low maintenance and knowing there would be no need for staining, oiling, or painting and pleasing aesthetics.”

“ResortDeck looks great, has UV protection, is fade and mould resistant, splinter-free and has no visible fastenings”

QwickBuild is ideal for decks of all heights from ultra-low to raised, is fast and easy to install, and because the framework is configured of marine grade aluminium it won’t rot and keeps staying straight year after year.

We make it easy for homeowners and builders by providing a free, deck and deck frame design service. This helps our clients visualise the deck surface layout (in this case, ResortDeck) and also automatically calculates the most efficient deck frame layout.

Our free service saved Chris significant time on estimation. He simply provided a sketch and deck dimensions to us and we provided the design and an itemised, accurate materials list which were ordered through a merchant, getting delivered to his door.

The board and frame installation was fast and straightforward with the accurate info we provided. There was much less onsite mess and material wastage and digging required than if Chris had used hardwood decking on a traditional timber sub-frame.

“We are thrilled with the way our backyard has been totally transformed by the decking and pool. This is now our dream home. The kids cannot get enough of this newfound space and refer to it as the resort”.
